video audio controls missing

I'm running civ IV on Vista Home Premium
nVidia 8800 GTS
Creative SB X-fi
latest drivers installed
In options there's no information in video and audio screens
Game runs fine otherwise, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this and if there's something I can do.

problem solved by re-installing don't know what original glitch was.
