Saves not right

I have the right extension ??

but the icon for the file does not show


so I cant play the saves

Shouldn't they normally be in
My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Saves ?

the fix was another round of reinstalls....joy

so Why does the game want to install into a directory which does you no good ????
