  • The Effect of Mercantilism on Religious Spread.

    Now this is a point I am not sure of. I know that Mercantilism halts overseas trade routes, but does it stop the spread of religion from your holy cities too? Is the available route still used for the purposes of calculating religious spread?

    It's the open borders that is relevant, not mercantilism.

      MERC should have no impact.

      Actually, I don't think OB matters. So long as a valid trade route exists (or could exist if borders were open) I think religion can spread.

      War will prevent religion spread, though.

          Closing the borders will prevent foreign missonaries belonging to that country from crossing into your territory and activity spreading their religions to your cities.
