Some questions (Warlords)

Well, I haven't played C4 in a long time, so I got the expansion set and went at it. I really like it, but I have some basic questions.

POWER: I built a factory and it says it gives a + to production with electricity (the lightning bolt image). There appears to be 3 sources of power. Hydro, Nuclear, and Coal. Do all 3 give the same plus to production? The only one that actually has the lightning bolt is hydro. The nuclear and coal seem to have negative possibilities associated with them. So, I guess my questions are: What do they do exactly? Should I build them? Is the hydro the only one that gives the production plus referred to in the factory?

SDI: If I build the SDI project it says it becomes available to all civs. So, anyone who has uranium could then build the nuke after YOU research it? I don't get that. What's the point of researching it if it gives you no advantage? Or does it?

SCORE: I finished the game with around 5200 or so points. It didn't rate me highly as a leader (I forgot the the name). How can I find out how to maybe improve that score? (I play marathon standard sized maps (terra) usually.)

Power: if you have a Factory, it gives a bigger production boost with power than without. All three power planets produce power and are the same in that regard. However, coal plants have negative health and nuclear ones can melt down.

SDI: no, it's Manhattan Project that enables nukes for everyone. SDI has to be built by each civ separately, if they have the appropriate tech.

Score: the final score is a function of your in-game score and the year you win. Move your mouse over your score in-game to see what it's composed of, that'll give you an idea on how to improve it. It is fairly straightforward - the more stuff you have, the more score you have, with the more exclusive stuff (such as Wonders) respectively giving more score.

So, if I build all 3 it will give me a big boost to production then?

No, power is only given once. You either have it or you don't.

In fact, building, say, a Hydro Plant when you have a Coal Plant already just cancels the Coal Plant.
