Thought I would open up a thread for thoughts on the best way to review mods specificly the mods in Warlords since Solver mentioned he didn't really know how to review them. So what is important in a mod how should it be reviewed. To me mods are basicly add replay value to a game. They change the fundamental gameplay enough to make things interesting but not so much that it is a new game or an expansion pack. So in reviewing a mod the things to look at are:
1. What changes does it bring to the game are they
interesting and enjoyable?
2. Does it leave enough of the main game behind to be
recognizible (we don't want to be playing half-life when we
are looking for Civ)
3. Is it an interesting time period or future history scenario?
For the rest review it just like you would a normal game, is it balanced is it fun ect. Thoughts?
