What's up with this forum? Why is there is no big flashy button saying I have new messages. In neon colours, if possible

Well... if you have it on in your options, there should be a Javascript popup saying you have a PM. And the PM(1/1) indicator should also be fairly visible. Oh, and there's even an option for email notification about PMs. It's advisable to have at least some notification options on so that you don't miss them so easily.
