Yeah, I miss the council too. I never saw this video, but a friend of mine told me that when he was severely losing a game the science advisor said something like "Even the cobblestones have more knowledge than we do....to be honest, sire....we suck!".

I kinda wish I'd seen that.

If you still have the Civ2 CD, you can play the clips directly from the CD with Media Player. Funny stuff.

I always liked the DRUNK military advisor.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I always enjoyed my councillors arguiing with eachother.

The science advisor is talking about libraries when suddenly the the military advisor interrupts "NAY SIRE! The defence of our cities takes precedence!". Funny stuff.

I liked it how their look changed with era, as well.

Since they've got Leonard Nimoy doing voiceovers, I'd want Jolene Blalock as "the Spy".

I certainly couldn't afford her royalty fees. Firaxis could do it but they might not be too happy about laying out a whole bunch of money for a few council movies.

OTOH, they could save by having Firaxis employees playing the other roles: maybe Sid as the military advisor and Soren as the science advisor. I gather that Jeff Briggs is pretty musical; I wonder what kind of Elvis imitation he'd be up to.

But then again, the guy's wives might veto this scheme.
