  • Game time

This doesn't seem accurate to me. I think it said my last game was 2 hours and some odd minutes. But I'm certain I spent more time playing the game. Although you'd think it would seem to seem like less time as I get so engrossed in the game. I admit I don't actually mark the time I start and finish, but it just seems longer.

      It seems correct for me.

How do people manage to complete games in only two hours? I spend that long just thinking about city placement.

remind me never to invite you to play mp with us then!

during the end game readout in some ladder games it says Iv only been playing an hour! its more like 2:30. I dont know why

The MP counter seems broken to me. I've only played hot seat, but the counter seems to only show the time the host is active, not the total game time.

Did you quit, rather than finish? Even at quick speed, 2 hours would seem to be a phenomenally short game all the way to victory. (I now play marathon exclusively where 2 hours is usually less than 10% of my time in the game.)

I you go to INFO (the chart looking button) and click on stats, it tells you how long you have been playing.

2 hours seems really fast to me, even on Normal speed. What is the size of the map?

My normal games usually shows up as 2-4 hours long.

It was 2 and some change. It may have been closer to 3. I'll load up my final save again and end the game (though it will put a duplicate score in my hall of fame ).

It was a game in the fantasy realm map type with crazy resources. Standard map, cylindrical world. The map had no ocean. I had no iron, copper, coal, or oil. . I avoided wars for the most part because of this. Only the aztecs and I think one other civ attacked me. I held them off for 10 turns and sued for peace. Actually in the Japanese case they paid me for peace, as my cavalry was busy having fun pillaging every single square of theirs. They didn't have units strong enough to attack me. Though I'm surprised their war elephants didn't try to take my pillaging cavalry out. war elephants are surprisingly tough to take out with cavalry.

Wars is what really makes the game long. though they are fun. . But sometimes I like peaceful games. I had enough room to out expand the ai and end up with a large enough empire to win the game. So I never went to war to conquer cities.

Turned out to be 2 hours and 40 minutes. But as I said, I'm sure I have been playing longer.

I'm not a huge micromanagers (why I can't play the higher levels), so I do tend to play fast.

And since my video card died, I can't play huge maps anymore, and large maps tend to be slow. . In OT they said I should send my card in with the warrantee, maybe I can get a new one. but that would require me finding my receipt... I'm using a Radeon 9600 XT right now. But I still have 2 gigs of ram, but video card memory is important for this game.

I think I figured it out. I believe it uses my computer time. Well my computer clock is screwed up for some reason. Can anyone tell me why? Is my battery running low? I hope not.

My computer clock seems to be either running fast or slow. It says 2:37 Am when the actual time is 1:26 AM. I just set it a few months ago.

That's what I get for buying a refurbished computer I guess. It was dirt cheap. I just had to buy a few things to make it gaming ready (video/sound card). And now I have 2 gigs of RAM. But unfortunately my new video card died.

I'd still like to get 4 years out of this computer. Somehow.

Latest game. Says it was 4 hours and 29 minutes. I can't remember the exact time I started, but actual time seems to be closer to 6 hours. Standard continents map. Noble difficulty. Tough game as I had no coal, and I had too much room to expand into, crippling my economy. I played as Bismark.

edit: after looking at the date on my computer, it's almost 3 days behind!!
