Wonder Limit?

I'm at a point in my game where I'm unable to build any world wonders in any city. They all have the text "World Wonder: 0 Left" in the tooltip.

I can find no explanation of this number anywhere - how it is calculated, what it means, etc. Can anyone shed some light?

Well, how many do you have in the city?

There is NEVER* a limit to how many WORLD wonders you can build in a city. National wonders are limited to 2 (including forbidden palace).

The "0 Left" you are seeing is only saying that only one of that wonder can be built anywhere, by anyone.

*Unless someone modifies the game so there is a limit.

Only one of that wonder can be in progress in the world? That doesn't make much sense, as it would completely prevent any race for said wonders.

Only one of your cities may be building that wonder.

I know the first time I played on a team that slightly confused me but if you are on a team, if your team mate is building that wonder, you won't be allowed to build it. You personally might not be building it and the computer team mate wont tell you he's building it, so you have to look at all his cities and maybe they're building it.

That only explains it if you're on a team though...

You can tell by going into the city screen and if the button for the wonder is dark, it means that either you, or your teammate is building it in another city.
