  • I need help!

    Okay when i tried to play my newly installed (Civilization IV) It had a message saying something like check and make sure you have the newest direct x version which i do and check your graphical settings, i keep trying different things ! and yes i have direct x 9.0, so what do i do?,alex

          I'd suggest downloading and installing the latest DirectX from microsoft's website - DirectX 9.0 has various subversions and CIV is quite picky about which one you need. You can't tell from the DirectX version number alone, because while it can still be DirectX 9.0 (even 9.0c), it can be a different build/release.

            The one on the CD is the one you need. It's slightly different from the one on the net IIRC. I had some problems with my DX9 from Microsoft, until I installed the one on the CD.

            EDIT: That was last year though.

              What graphic card do you have? It may be due to graphic setting. try the lowest setting.
              I know this happens on graphic card with 32MB ram.
