  • Friedrich Psitalon's Warlords Review

Some of you are probably famillar with Friedrich. He is a beta-tester and the author of the official Civ IV strategy guide. He is one of the big names in the competive multiplayer environment and writes a review of Warlords from this perspective.

Overall, it is a positive review, but he is disappointed by a few things. I did learn a few things that I was unaware of! The new additions for anonymous play and team shuffle sound like they would be a blast if you can get a few friends to play with you. It is interesting that he doesn't discuss probably the XP's most popular feature, vassalage, at all since it is a purely SP convention

I am primarily SP gamer so it was interesting to see Warlords reviewed from this perspective.

WOW, I sure spotted something new:

    from the review:

"Charismatic - Units require 25% less experience per level, +1 per city, +1 from Monument, Broadcast Tower"

The manual neglects to mention the 25% boost!

And here I was thinking that Charismatic is a pretty crappy trait...
Only the most intelligent, handsome/beautiful denizens of apolyton may join the game :)

It's my favorite trait. When I go warmonger, I like to do it right.

It's just awful that they should miss such an important detail.

Maybe because it was added after the manual went to print. It's just awful that you didn't think of such an important detail.
