    1. It gives culture points AND a percentage boost.
    2. No traits are mentioned as giving a bonus to building the stable in the manual.

This was confirmed in a CFC thread where there are a couple of screenshots of the trait descriptions. One was Shaka which shows that both Aggressive and Expansive both do not build the Stables quickly. The review made a mistake.

        Thanks.

The Numidian mercenary gets 50% against mounted units (unless the previews were wrong again). This means it can almost take on a spearmen - 7.5 vs. 8. The increased withdraw possibility makes it a fair bet against them anyway. So the Carthaginian unique unit is a counter to all melee units.

Build it with a barracks and a stables and it gets shock upon production giving it 9.25 vs. the spearman's 8.

Ok. Confusion on CFC site: Does the Chariot have a 100% bonus against Axemen or a 50% bonus against Axemen? Apparently the manual says one and the Civilopedia says another.

Comon Sensei said 100%, and specifically not 50% as the manual says, on the first page of this thread.

Ah ok. I remember reading it but didn't remember him explicitly stating that it was different to the manual. Anyway... 100% it is Good.

... man I am looking forward to this.

Sweet! I just returned from the game store with Warlords in hand. Now to install it and abandon all other responsibilities for several weeks while I play it. *evil grin*
One of these days I'll make 501 posts, and you won't have to look at my silly little diplomat anymore.

Numidian Cavalry is str5. It also has 20% withdraw, plus has Flanking I so I assume it'll have 30% withdraw, but not positive.

                  Horse Archer has 20% withdraw.

Drill is the same except II, III, and IV all have suffers 20% less collateral damage added on to them.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but the game seems to run a little less smoothly than it was Playing a large map which is fairly normal for me and it was getting a bit slow graphically even before 1000 AD. The computer was of course expanding like crazy (just how do they do that and keep research up anyways!).

Think I'll start another game on standard, see if it's much better. Could be all the new art assets causing it tho, so who knows.

Btw, variety in civs city appearances = good lord I've missed that!

Here are some updates I didn't know about:

-Barraks only grants 3xp (was 4xp) but is 10 hammers cheaper.
-Spies don't have a maint. cost per turn
-Forests yield only 20 now, which increased to 30 with the advent of Mathamatics, and the further the cleared tile is from the city, the smaller the bonus as well.
-SDI needs Manhatten Project! That should make the late game interesting...
-West Point and Heroic Epic require a level 6 and level 5 unit now
-Wonders keep generating great person points even after they become obsolete!
-Castles give +1 trade routes until Economics! Yikes!
-Forts are more useful now - only the owner of the tile it's on gets benefit from it, and city defense and city raider bonuses apply to units in forts now.
-Military Advisor screen displays barbarians now
-Forests now provide +0.5 if in the city radius

Theres more, but those are the ones that stand out to me personally.

did shaka just flip me off?

I swear I saw it. Anyone else?

(and how cool is his music? definitely weird in the best kind of way.)

Got it from Best Buy. It wasn't on the shelves yet. I limped badly (which is natural for me) and looked desperate and needy and some manager dug it out of the back room out of sympathy. He seemed surprised that I knew that he would have it. Actually, I had called a different Best Buy in the Denver area and they had expected it to stock tomorrow or next day. I was with the family getting some groceries and so forth at the big box store next to this other Best Buy and the family convinced me it was worth a try. It was!

Now, neither you nor my family will hear from me again for a little while.
                              If you aren't confused,
                              You don't understand.

The guy at Gamestop, Horton Plaza in San Diego, had to go in the back too. I didn't see any copies on the shelves. He wasn't even familiar with the Civ games and I was disgusted. WTF!? I think I was the first person in San Diego to buy and play Warlords ... same as Civ IV!

My first game--I'm playing as the Celtic Empire--is going well enough. My success is secondary to my enjoyment. I am having a lot of fun discovering all the new treats. To state the obvious, the expansion is worth the money.

[EDIT: to clarify, I had a reserved and pre-paid copy of Warlords. This may have had something to do with why it was in the back of the store, although as I said, I didn't see copies on the shelves. Maybe the stores receive the game several hours before they merchandise it?]
