        Bring on Ragnar
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

So it means that Genghis Khan, Huyana Capac and Caesar have their traits changed at least.

I suspect Caesar will get Charismatic, and Genghis either Charismatic or Imperialistic. Maybe Huyana Capac will get Protective.

Also, I think Hannibal has all the making of a dangerous opponent. He is going to be Financial, with an extra bonus for finance from both his special building and from the fact that he will be likely to adopt the Free Market. Furthermore, unlike the present trade mogul - Mansa Musa - he is likely going to be more aggressive.

            Vikings also look promising.

I'm thrilled that they decided to go with the Numidian Cavalry for Hannibal's UU.

And he definately seems like he could be a challenging opponent.

Totally agree about the UU. I was bracing myself for elephants and was delighted to see Numidian Cavalry instead.

The Celts look like fun, too. The free Guerilla I promotion means I might actually build walls.

Ooh - and the Viking lighthouse replacement gives +1 movement for naval units and lasts the whole game. Nice.

Does it say weather the impi needs copper or iron? It would really make it less useful if it did.

I think that from a multiplayer perspective (and as AI opponents), probably the Carthies and the Koreans are the strongest combinations. Charismatic/Financial sounds like a great combo, with its combination of bonus happiness, extra commerce, and higher level units. That Numidian Cavalry sounds very cool, as it is essentially a two-moving axeman with withdraw, although it will be weaker than normal vs. other cavalry units and archers. I really like their building, the Cothon with the extra trade route. That can really be a boon to science.

The Koreans also sound very interesting, as they combine Financial (a huge favorite), protective, AND a UU that replaces the Catapult. Those rockets are going to have a +50% vs. melee, as well as drill1 and drill2 from protective. That is scary powerful, especially against cities held by axemen or macemen defenders. Also, the Koreans get Mysticism, which gives the player a good chance to get an early religion and is a prerequisite for the Oracle slingshots.

The Vikings are interesting, being Financial and Aggressive (one of my favorite combos), but their special building only sounds useful on some of the maps, and the Berserker's bonuses seem less impressive than other Macemen UU's (such as the Samurai).

It sounds like the Zulu may be the weakest race on the list, as I really do not like expansive that much. The Impii do sound cool, but they are still going to get pwned by axemen (if the axes can catch them). Also, a special barracks that is more expensive?? That sounds more like a penalty than a bonus. Especially for an early game building that needs to be built when your overall production is very low.

Go to the other Warlords preview thread and see what I wrote on the Zulu and why they will be one of the best new civs on Warlords.

...or you can wait about 18 more days and I will pwn you with them on multiplayer as you play Carth

It also has the details for the unique units and buildings for the new civs.

Cathage: Numidian Cavalry instead of horse archer. Only 5 strength, but +10% withdraw and +50% against meele.

Cothon instead of Harbor. Along with the other benifits of harbors, the city also gets +1 trade route. (!)

Celts: Gallic Warriorsinstead of Swordsmen. The only difference is, Gallic Warrior starts with gurrillia 1 for free.

Duns instead of Walls. Any unit built in a city with a dun starts with gurrillia 1 for free.

(Neither sounds all that useful to me; the ability to give all your units gurrillia 1 could be significant, but mostly against barabarians probably).

Korea: Hwacha instead of catapult. Hwacha has +50% advanatge against meele.

Seowon instead of university: an extra +10% science. (very nice, but later then many other buildings)

Ottomen: Janissaries instead of Musketmen. They also gain a 25% bonus against archers, cavalry and melee units. (Interesting, but only useful for a very short time)

Hammams instead of a Aqueducts; extra +2 health. (Not a big deal; expansive civs almost never have to build aqueducts anyway. )

Vikings: Beserker instaed of Maceman. Extra +10% to city attack, free amphibious promotion. (Looks very strong to me)

Trading Posts instead of Lighthouse: along with normal lighthouse bonuses, also gives all ships built there a free nav 1 promotion. (Useful, not especally strong)

Zulu: Impi instead of spearmen; +1 movement, less terrain penelty. (A niche unit, but useful)

Ikhanda instead of barraks. Costs 10 hammers more then the barraks, but -20% bonus to city maintence. (Wow...very nice.)

Out of the new civs, I think the carthegians are amazing. Zulu and Vikings might be fun to play as well. I'm not impressed by the ottomens.

I'd be content to learn about the three remaining new leaders (there are a lot of unique buildings, it would be tough to cover them in a preview).
