Just commenting on what you've put forward.

Genghis Khan should get the Imperialist trait in order to simulate rapid expansion and generation of military leaders. I'm assuming he'll get a stables building to give mounted units a bonus as the mongol special building. I'm in favour of both the expansionist and aggresive traits being removed from him since, while the names could easily be applied to him, the practical results of either of these traits do not appear to suit him. Of course, I can't think of a second trait for him to have.

I doubt either of the Chinease leaders will get the protective trait. Cho-ku-nus (sp?) are already quite powerful.

I'm in favour of Victoria staying as she is at the moment. Financial and Expansionist are both good representations of the way the English civiliation developed through the 19th century. In fact, after Bismarck, it's hard to think of an in-game-leader who more deserves the practical results of having the expansionist trait than Victoria.

I'd be hesitent to have massive changes to the original leader traits (when I tried to contribute to a thread like this for C3C I had massive changes that went too far compared to the numbers actually changed).

But I do think Napoleon and Caesar are deserving of Charismatic, though.

I would be surprised if Victoria didn't get her Expansionistic replaced with Imperialistic.

Likewise, I think Quin would get Protective instead of Financial (or maybe instead of Industrialist).

as Satlin is tailor made for the new Charismatic trait, In fact I think that this trait is based on stalin, it would be a HUGE mistake to not give stalin Charismatic, He fooled the world for about 20 years. in fact stalin was so charismatic that he was able win an "election" (of party officials i think) against someone who had much beter ides than him, but had bad communication skills, he actually got him exiled, (and probably stole some of his ideas.
Propaganda was widely and VERY effectively used by Stalin, this is what the brodcast tower boost is in charismatic.

Stalin MUST have the Charismatic trait

P.S. Read Animal Farm by George Orwell, Napoleon is Stalin, snowball is the other guy, squealer is propaganda, Old major is Karl Marx. it is an allegory of the rise of communism. (a good book too.)

What a joke...

Stalin, as a man, was overbearing, cold, and often treated his family and political associates as peons who were subjugated by force to do his willing. He wasn't noted as a man who could gain friends nor was he a particularly good back-slapper or speaker who could rile a crowd to his point of view. As a leader, Stalin was in a constant state of utter paranoia where enemies were always omnipresent; and because of this, instead of relying on his personality to win people over to secure his political power, he resorted to mass purging of generals, statesmen, peasants and any other man, women, child, or animal who he felt was a wedge to his continued existence.

Organized, yes, industrious, perhaps, but to describe a self-personified "Man of Steel" as charismatic is completely asinine or simply misinformed.

I'm not at all sure that Stalin should recieve the charismatic trait. Howver, I would like to suggest, Autotropx Sox, that you are using the dictionary definiton of charismatic in making your arguement when the appropriate definiton would be the CivIV definition.

Charismatic bonuses:

1) +2 happiness in each city
2) -25% cost of unit promotions
3) double production speed of broadcast towers

These bonuses could easily be given to someone who

a) reduced dissent (taking account that happy faces in CivIV are a way of countering unhappy faces)
b) had an army that rapidly developed in strenght and ability
c) the broadcast towers could be used to imply good use of propaganda

Trying to incorporate these achievements in to the game could be very easily be done by granting the same bonuses that are given by the charismatic trait.

None of your arguements actually explain why the charismatic trait, as defined by Warlords, should not be given to Stalin.

Though maybe you might wish to argue that the charismatic trait has been misnamed - even though some truly charismatic leaders (such as Churchill) would have a good case to make for having the exact same bonuses but for different reasons.

Actually, after that typing that up I'm coming around to the fact that charismatic would be a very good trait for Stalin, though there are a number of others he could have instead.

Gandhi shouldn't be Industrious (he never built anything).
