  • Is there any good Strat Guides out there?

Blake's threads on Civ4 Strategy Forum
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I was kind of hoping to find everything in one guide. . I have looked through those threads, but it's tough. As certain strategies get revised over time. So you don't know if any of the stuff in the old threads are applicable anymore.

Hmmm, as much as I hate to say it, Civfanatics has some good beginner's guides in the strategy ARTICLES forum! Sulla's I believe has 4 stars, so that one may be good.

Somebody may collect the threads into an unofficial guide one day...

check out the attachment to the first post in this thread (Vel's Strategy Thread, Volume III).

quote from that thread by Vel

"And finally, I'm happy to report that Platypus Rex has done a wonderful, outstanding service to the community, and distilled the thoughts and conclusions reached in VSG II down to one concise volume. I'm attaching the word doc to this post, and will also attach an RTF version to the post that follows (for those of you who don't have Word).'

Do you guys usaually do a worker first? Personally I try to get 4 or 5 pop first unless there's nothing for food nearby.

Fanatics site has excellent techinal posts; for startegy

                          Apolyton is better ( IMHO).

About what to build first, a strategis question, Vel guide

here is the place to look.

                          Best regards,

I'll have to do some more reading. What's the general concensus on first build?

most people say to grow first. But some of my best games have been with a settler first. Maybe the difficulty level has some effect on this (I play on Noble usually)
