Well, I bet that wishing would go away in a month. Then trust me, they will HAVE to drag you away from the game, especially if they start starving you from playing time.

        Just a suggestion
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I'll just keep it to myself that my wife doesn't care if I stay up and play so long as I get to work the next morning and since I'm hyperkinetic I only need about 3-5 hours of sleep.

              I'll just not mention that.

Hum...and you are suposed to be electronic experts, don't you?
Put some trick that disconnects power of your computer at desired time.
This invention is not patented, you can use it freely.
                Best regards,

At the start of med school two years ago, I switched to Mac from PC for the sole reason that I would NOT be able to play civ4 when it came out (I can still play at home though) and thus I would not fail any of my licensing exams.
May it come that all the Radiances will be known as ones own radiances

One, you don't want to disconnect the power, that'll do bad things to your machine. You want the machine to power down nicely.

And the process of notifying the OS to power-down nicely has been patented, yes, but it has been release to the public for use (if you can figure it out on your own). It has been figured out by some and does come in the form of a program that costs ~$100.

                    I'd rather develop some self-control.

What is this thread doing in the Civ4 forum? It looks like an OT thread.

Try this command in a windows cmd shell:

                        sleep 3600 && shutdown -r -t 60

This command will start a shutdown sequence in 1 hour. Make the number bigger to play longer. It will also give you 60 seconds warning.

Wow you say, an amazing unstoppable way to end the game...

Well actually shutdown -a lets you abort the shutdown, so you can just finish one more turn...

Well see, the problem with having the system do an auto shut down is... I will just turn it right back on, its like no way, I am in the middle of planning this all out, no way I am quiting now. Heck my first aircraft carrier is almost built and will soon be rolling off the dry dock

I've gotten bored of the game. Now I'm into this ball-in-a-cup! Aw, I missed the cup. Hey, but it's okay because there's a string attached to the cup!
