  • I am worried...

Here it is, Sunday night 11:45pm, I am not tired enough to go to bed yet. So I am afraid that if I put in that Civ IV cd and start playing, I may end up with that "just one more turn" disease. Then I will be at work tomorrow morning like a zombie having Civ IV flash backs from an all night session. If I dare put that cd in, I may end up seeing a sunrise and that thought, scares me to death. Its just one of those times where the beauty of a sunrise is downright scary

The game does have an alarm clock function.

However last time I used it I set it for 11pm, it duely wentoff at 11pm. I was in the middle of a major war at the time, which I was winning, so just another couple of turns................

    Got to bed at 2am

Either go to bed now - or call in sick tomorrow!

All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Monday afternoon here. I did that last night. Crap. You see, I had to make sure the Japanese are no longer a threat. And they were on another continent. And they had a slight tech edge. So it took a while. They're still alive, but it's past the turning point now. Shorty after I went to bed, it became light outside.

      Aaaaargh!

I did a few all night sessions when I first got the game. Any sleep that I did get was full of Civ IV flashbacks. It was quite horrid really.

Well, I managed to fight off the urge to starting playing that late. Instead I went to bed, got to work, came home and played for a good 3-4 hours By no means does this mean I am out of hot water, now this game became very interesting. So now I have to face a possible late night of playing tonight because I will play some more and it could get ugly.

See... if you're going to play tonight, what's the point of having resisted the urge yesterday ?

If you really need help deciding not to play, then give me your phone number, and I'll get my wife to call you..............

The tension & anxiety in the "playing Civ in the wee hours on a work (or school) night" conflict
is an integral part of the experience.
Cherish it -- cherish it even more when you don't regret it the next day!

                Sincerely.

Trust me, if late night CIV is involved, there is only one conatation to be taken!

Lets just say It won't be a pleasant conversation.

No thanks! My girlfriend is plenty enough fussing at me Good think is, she really don't mind me playing but I do take advantage of it sometimes I will admit. I been trying to get her into it, I was able to get her into Tropico and of course The Sims 2 but thats really it. We do plenty together anyway like go to the gym, movies, out to eat so there. The only thing, I have got to get my Civ IV on and that I do.
