Newbie Question

I am sorry to ask such a newbie question.

On the main screen the cities I have made have a circle or star (my capital) beside their name. They are always changing colors. Sometimes greenish sometimes grey and I think red? What do these colors mean?

Greenish = the city is growing.

Grey = the city is not growing. Either doesn't have enough food or is building a Settler or a Worker.

Red = the city is starving.
