XML problem, fixes not working

Hello, I just installed Civilization 4 onto my computer, retail version 1.09. I get the common error about “Caught unhandled exception creating XML parser object Current XML file is:” So I checked the net, downloaded the MS XML update and updated my sound and video drivers. I’m running an AMD 3200+ on a Gigabyte mobo with 1GB RAM and a 6800GS.

Update: Since posting I have, turned of Hardware Acceleration on my sound, reinstalled in Safe Mode and on a new User Account and one regular reinstall all to no avail.

Use the Civ4 opening menu system - Advanced (if memory serves me right), to update to the current version 1.62.

Then see what happens.
