  • Turn off the "Blank wins a...Victory"

Is there a way to turn off the "So-and-So wins a Such-and-Such Victory" text that stays at the bottom of the screen when you keep playing after a victory?

I tried several search terms and didn't see an answer here. My apologies if this gets asked a lot.

Nah - I think your stuck with it there.

    Why keep playing?

Either start a new game on a higher difficulty (if you won), play again on same difficulty - but attempting a different victory condition, or if you "did not win" (which happens to me all the time ) reload one of your early saves and try a different strategy.

I personally have found that once the game is won I've learnt very little, if anything by playing on, except that nukes look really really kewl
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I will play on sometimes if there was something I was trying to see happen, like get all of the religious shrines or get a huge economy going.

I even played on after an early conquest victory just to see the effects of having a negative income at 0% science!

Yeah, that thing is fairly annoying if you want to keep playing, I'm not sure why they put it there. Even if you won, it tells you! Bleh.
