Am I the only one who almost never zooms all the way out? Ever since I got the game, when it was released last year, I have only zoomed all the way out very few times... it just doesn't give me the overview it's supposed to give me

There's IMHO two big problems with it:

    1) The cities infoboxes are too large. When I zoom out, the only thing I see is those... I can barely see the ground. The cities should just have been a small circle (maybe with the picture of what the city is producing)... I don't need all the same info as when I'm zoomed in

    2) The clouds are just annoying and makes it at times even harder to see anything

I use it once or twice most games. It's not perfect, but it gives me a sense of how I'm doing space-wise in the game.

I use it quite often actually. Not that it helps, but anyway...

Voted for never, since I do it just in the very first second, when I adjust the view to have the max overview below the clouds - which, btw are a major annoyance.

I use it at least once per game - actually more than once, but not "often" as the first option put it. I find it relatively useful to know how I'm doing in terms of space in the game. It's great to use combined with the resource view, I can instanly locate possibly good city sites.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

A far out global view is sometimes good for screenshots to AU Courses, but that's about it.

The most zoomed in of the world map views is sufficent for high level overview.

Most of the zoomed out features are not very useful, IMO.

The religion toggle can be nice to get an overview of where each religion's spread.

The culture toggle is very useful (and I'd love if it were available zoomed in!) to decide whether your conquests forthcoming will be culturally viable. If the city you're about to take is surrounded by Egyptian culture, chances are you won't keep it long.

I don't get the trade toggle. Can anyone explain it to me?

I only use it for strategic layer line drawing. If I could use strategic layer at normal zoom I would instead.

Other than strategic layer I only really use it for resource-spotting overview. Ocassionally the trade view is useful, altough once you understand how the trade links work it isn't useful.
