  • Woraround for missing animal resource animations (only moving shadows appear)?

Does anyone have a solution to force animal resources to appear in the game? Currently, the game runs fine on my setup, I am just not able to see cows, horses, elephants, pigs, or sheep - I only see their shadows, thus requiring a mouse scrollover to identify them. On the other hand, my workers and units are animated. I am aware that I can freeze animations in the options menu, which enables a frozen image of the animals to appear, but then my workers or units are not animated (a pitiful experience to watch!) I wonder if another workaround exists. (e.g. editing Art .nif files?)

For the record, I am aware my system is under the min. requirements. In this regard, I have a Dell 300x laptop with a 1.4 ghz processor, 1024 mb RAM, but unfortuantely an integrated intel graphics chip with 64 mb (and no T&L). Like I said, the game runs well though in other respects, running fairly smoothly even on large and huge maps, with 2 of the 3 graphics options set to high (not the globe setting, which is at medium; i cannot run all 3 options at high, because I receive an "insufficient memory" error message.) Also, I do not have any terrain or cheshire leaderhead issues, although my wonder/intro movies don't run without choppiness.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
