  • One Word: HELPNEEDED!!

:HI, I have been trying to find a no dvd patch (to work with version 1.61) for my LEGAL copy of Sid Meiers Civ 4 (Which I purchased in Auckland from EB games, Henderson). Ever Since I patched it to V1.61 the no dvd patch thus becomes obeselete and does not work anymore. Although, the no dvd patch works with v1.52. I cannot enter multiplayer without patch 1.61, and i desperately want to kick butt (or try to) in multiplayer. I only wish to play the game without the dvd itself because last time I played a game in my driver, the computer crashed and the driver wouldnt even start. I had to pay $250 dollars (NZ) to a technician to come and check my comp out, and fix it. (Man was I angry)

:So plz, Does anyone know a website with an updated "no dvd patch" for civ4 that is compatible with v1.61. I have already checked game copy wolrd, and burn world for the no dvd patch, and both sites only have the "no dvd" patch for civ4 but only the one which works with version 1.52.

:Your replys will be most welcomed.

Nobody is going to tell you where to find a no-dvd patch because it's illegal, and it's against the rules of these forums. Having said that, it's ironic that pirated versions of the game work better than legitimate versions.

All things being equal, the no-cd cracks floating around will of course work better than not.... the bit rate is a helluva lot higher reading files from the harddrive than it is from the cd/dvd!

My Civ4 DVD takes 10-15 minutes to be recognised. As a result I almost never play civ , I don't know what's wrong. My dvd drive works perfectly with every other dvd I have, and the civ dvd works normaly when I put it in my laptop (it dosen't meet minimum specs so I can't play civ there). Can anyone help? Is there a thread about this? I've tried everything including mounting an image but that dosen't work either. It seemes that if I want to play civ I will have to "brake the law" and find a no-dvd (1.62 comatible) patch, for wich the Nubianmercenary seems to be shearching too.

Just make sure that if you do find one, don't post links or any references to it here on 'Poly.

It's against the form rules, no cd/dvd cracks are considered illegal, and as such reference to them will probably get you banned.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

That would be correct, pointing to cracks on our forum really isn't allowed. Mentioning cracks at all isn't appreciated, either.
