I didn't think about this until today but lets say I have 3 corn in my empire does that mean I'm bringing in +3 health to my empire or just 1 because its the same resource. Also if it does bring me +3 then what is the benefit of having a diverse mix of food sources.

it gives u +1h no matter how much corn u have, u can trade it tho

Granaries and Supermarkets(?) increase health from corn in the cities the improvements are built in.

Trade the extra corn for something you don't have or cash per turn.

Granaries give health bonus for rice, wheat and corn; grocers give bonus for wine, spice, bananas and sugar; supermarkets give bonus for meatstuff.
