Hi Everyone,
After reading the thread on the Chinese leaders, and having (egads!) not played Civ for several weeks, I decided to try a game with Mao. The intent was to try for an early domination win, but I failed at that, in part (maybe?) because I chose to play on a large (huge?) pangea with 9 or 10 civs.
Anyway, after trailing for most of the game, war gains from the Incans and Spanish have placed me -- as of 1810AD -- first overall in points with good demographics. I'm sure I'll have no problem winning by spaceship sometimein the 20th century.
But...
I'd like to get better.
Was wondering if anyone wanted to take a look at the game and give me any suggestions. (The game is a large pangea map, monarch, normal speed, the year is 1810AD.) In particular:
+ I don't feel like I specialized well at all. Is there a city here that would excel as a GPP factory? (I'm currently using Beijing as that, but think that maybe Machu Pichu would be better?)
+ My overall production has been pretty crappy for most of the game, due to a lot of grassland with a shortage of hills - how could I improve that?
+ I feel like I have a large number of OK trade, so-so production, good food cities. How can I specialize them to make better use of what seems to be, overall, very useful land?
As far as the rest of the game goes -- if I have a concerted effort, will I be able to win a domination victory? a conquest victory?
any and all comments are appreciated. I seem to be able to win at Monarch pretty consistently, but I get destroyed consistently at Emperor as well, so I'm hoping to pick up some tips before moving forward.
thanks!
Lee
