Somewhere around here there's a thread on Diplomatic Victory through Global Thermonuclear War. It's instructive, and entertaining. Or, if you wish, Enterstructive.

Well I'm pretty friendly with Cyrus, and so is everyone else pretty much. And my armies are only slightly stronger then Cyrus's

Hay, they made me switch to Environmental civic, but is there a way to get back to State Property? I'm loosing 300 a turn extra because of that Environmental.

There will be another election for General Secretary at some point in the future. Unless Cyrus wins the game by winning a "cyrus wins" vote first.

Until then, just try to either hurt Cyrus, or alternatvly, try to stir up wars between him and anyone else you can. Either bribe Cyrus to start a war, or bribe someone else to attack Cyrus. It dosn't really matter; even if the war goes nowhere, it will hurt the diplomatic relations between the two for a very long time.

And, no, you're now stuck on Enviormental forever, or until there's another vote on the subject. Sorry. On the bright side, everyone else is too, so it's hurting them as well.

I've got many more cities then them though, I've got approximatly 30% of both land area and population on a 45X28, with 9 civilizations left.

Anyway, I started a war with Isabella, which got Mansa Musa to vote for Cyrus instead of me. So Cyrus won of Diplomatic victory.

              Damn Persians!

How many points are needed to get to a higher level. I had almost 4000 (no one else had above 2500, though I was on an easier level) and I just got the 2nd from the bottom.

Yeah...that's not big enough to prevent the AI from getting a diplomatic victory.

It's also not enough get along everyone, because they also probably also get along with your competitor.

                Some tricks that help:

                1. Bribe him to switch away from Free Religion; give him money to switch to pacificm or orginized religion or something. If he's got Free Religion, then he'll get along with everyone; if you force him to pick a religion, then some people won't like him. Note:this trick works best if you're spiritual, becuase you can switch to org religion or something, bribe him to take the same civic, and then switch back 5 turns later with no cost to you.

                2. Like I said, if you can get bribe anyone else to declare war on him, or to stop trading with him, do so.

                3. Increase your own population as fast as you can; put cities anywere you can, even on terrible land you usually wouldn't, and get your cities to focus on food.

Problem with bribing is that it's not even an option to set Cyrus to go to war with anybody (everybody loves Cyrus) and on religion, there was a vote for free religion already.
