  • do firaxis people read this?

if so, I think you should be able to ask for something in return when an opposing leader asks you to do something. Like when he/she asks you to stop trading with another leader, you should be able to say "give this tech and I will" maybe play other leaders against each other or something. Good idea?

Imust thought of another question, is there a way to disable wonder movies. the game runs well enough untill one of those pops up, then my machine come to a screeching halt

I agree, it would be nice to counter their requests. I would also like to see an option like this:
When someone asks for you to join the war, you could respond that it's not possible at this moment, but you could help with the war by giving resources/luxuries to the asking civ, as long as he/she is at war with mentioned civ
The asking civ can then either accept it (giving you no relationsship hits) or they can demand again ("Either you join the war, or I'll hate you")... which is the same as the currently
This space is empty... or is it?

Yes, it´s somewhere in the options menu. Graphics I tjink.

just a little more depth in parts of diplomacy would be nice, I would think it wouldn't be that hard to implement.

Exactly what I would like to see.

And possibly some version of Lend-Lease: "Well, we don't wan't to officially join your war right now, BUT we'll let you have all these things (i.e. units) for very reasonable prices! (free, even?)" or even (as was the case when USA took over UK's occupation of Iceland a few months before Pearl Harbour and USA's official joining of WW2 - it was done only so that the UK could send their 60 000-odd troops down south to Africa to fight there, and was btw USA's first occupation of a European country in WW2) protecting your friend's cities, leaving his units free to join a war elsewhere.

Come to think of it, why is it that if you have Open Borders with one Civ (Civ A) but not another one (Civ B), and then place your units in Civ A's cities or strategic points, Civ B (at war with Civ A) can still attack and occupy those cities and points without first declaring war on you? (This, I guess, only applies before you can sign Defensive Pacts.)
