  • Something very strange happened

While I was playing last night, a Japanese archer wandered close to my territory. I took a close look at it, and the game told me that there's only one archer. The next turn, I found that the archer founded a city and there were two archers defending it

So either the game lied to me wrt to what's in the stack, or that it cheated by making up more units on the spot.

        Noble (yeah, yeah), large continent

He couldn't be moving anything to that spot coz I have units on sentry. In fact the city was founded right at the spot where one of my archers had been standing.

Is this reproducible from an autosave? If so, I'd suggest filing a bug report. If not / you don't have one, then I'd be inclined to guess you missed something somewhere, as if there was an issue like this, I'd imagine there'd be more reports.

You didn't press 'end turn' or something by mistake? Could he have come from a goody hut?

Not sure if computer players could get Settlers on that level.

Though my copy of the game seems to act strangely. The most usual case is when barbarian units appear where they shouldn't, in an area where there's no fog of war.

I wonder if this has anything to do with my motherboard, which is borked and goes haywire intermittently. Man, I will not buy another MSI mobo again.

It's not a speed issue, is it? If the graphics are playing catch-up then those things can seem weird. though it's more frequent in (on-line) fps games.
Where players can get get 'warped' whereby many will claim 'speedhack' or something.

I highly doubt, that it has anything to do with your MoBo.
