  • CTD after memory upgrade

I just installed an additional memory module (now 2x512), same timings and manufacturer as the previous one. My Computer is fine with it, only civ now crashes to desktop after 2-3 min of playing, sometimes i even cant generate a map. So is the memory bad? Dont get any warnings from windows and its recognized properly, and as far as I tried I get no problems with other games.
What can i do about that besides taking out the module?

First thing I would do is to verify that the new memory module is the source of the problem:

    * Remove it and see if the problem goes away.

    * Then replace it and see if the problem comes back.

If both of these tests are positive, then run a RAM testing program. (If you don't have one, you should be able to download one free.)

If the test finds errors, you then should be in a position to get a refund or replacement.
