Personally, I wouldn't bother. I don't think I could stand it as it will be sloooow.

256MB Ram is just about enough to run windows imo.

Hate to tell you, but your PC is ooooold.

At least, if you want to play games anyway, good enough to do the rest.

Yeah it will possibly run with lots of things toned down...

You might suffer system freezes and/or system crashes though

I found another guy with this problem, but no solution,
              1. I can go into and play the game but whenever I build a city I can not read the city name, the city size, or the building information because there are blue boxes instead of text and numbers.
              2. I have a NVIDIA Geforce2 Mx. I have reinstalled and updated the drivers from NVIDIA website. Still have the same problem.

You need a better Graphix Card. The one you are using is right on the borderline and will not work with all (most) systems. Clearly it will not work for Civ 4 with your system and its variables.

Go get another ... You do not need to spend a lot. I run on an old machine with A Geforce 4mx 440. You can pick up a GeForce 5200 for very little outlay.

As someone has already said your memory is woefully low to run the OS and the Game. You need to put in more.

Your processor is also a little on the slow side.

The solution you are looking for isnt (unfortunately) one we can wave a magic wand at ..... You need to outlay some cash - either to upgrade the bits mentioned or to (my advice) buy a better machine.

That is the bottom line - sorry
