  • Question About Initial Exploration

Not sure if the is a bug or not but....when i begin my initial exporation usually with a warrior or scout i noticed the map begins to stop scrolling the screen. Altho' i can rotate the camera somewhat to allow a little more of an overhead view ..eventually the i can not see where my unit is...that is until later in the game, i think when then map centers or after a few other civs have been discovered. This only occurs on my bigger than small.

    A few points
not sure if it is a bug either

you can zoom out to get a larger view, this only works while you can see what the unit is.

press C to center the map on the unit
it should scroll automatically when moving units

what is on screen is shown in the minimap as a white box if the white box is bigger than the map you can't scroll , you won't need to scroll though.

calender / stonehenge center the map but there others too

    hope this covers everything

Yes, this happens to me as well. The workaround is:

Press ALT-TAB or the Windows key (between CTRL and ALT) to desktop then back to game.

      Memory/camera issue???

Did you enable flying camera mode?

also: this thread should be moved probably since it's not a strategy issue...

Marathon, the reason my friends and I have been playing the same hotseat game since 2006...

Strange, I've never seen this. I run the game in a rather high res, though... maybe that saves me?
