Garbled screen when run game

I have a pretty old system:

Mobo: Intel 845 chipset P4 1.8
Graphics: Geforce4 mx440 64mb
RAM: 1Gb

When I run the game, within 1-2 min, the screen will be garbled with diagonal lines running across the screen and the computer will hang.

I have installed the patch, as well as the latest drivers from Nvidia. I have also disabled the AGP texture acceleration from the dxdiag.

Besides buying a new card, what else can i do to run the game?

What graphical settings are you using?

Try:

1. Decrease colour depth to 16-bit.
2. Use low on all graphical settings, inc. low resolution texture.
3. Check your AGP aperture in BIOS. Increase it to 256MB if possible.
4. Use 1024x768 resolution.
5. Disable AA (anti-aliasing) inside the game.

After doing the above as adviced, i manged to go thru 1 pathetic turn before my PC froze... pls help!!!
