I only play maptypes where everyone starts on the same continent, so Pangaea, Terra and Balanced.

Because in MP, the maps played are usually balanced, ring, inland sea, wheel, sometimes hub IIRC...not the usual SP map types. Continents in particular is not suggested for MP play, and that alone would skew the poll...

I like to play on a variety of maps

I voted Continents but I play Island/Archipelago sometimes & I intend to experiment with other playing styles once I've mastered higher levels (still a bit noobish on Noble).

Continents, but also islands and archipelagos. Highlands map is also a favourite.

Continents, Huge, 14-15 civs, Epic or Marathon.
Modified Noble, with some Monarch attributes thrown in and no combat advantages vs. barbs for either player or AI.

Used to prefer Terra, with 2-4 fewer civs.

[Urban Ranger]

Continents, large, 2 or so fewer civs, raging barbarians, epic or marathon. Also nobody has advantages over barbarians.
