When I used to work in an IT department before going to uni, I quickly realized that techy guys are quick to name dates but these dates are to be interpreted as representing a period of at least 1 year before the thing will actually happen.
Methinks working with computers makes a person overly optimistic

My experience of working in the IT is that the tech guys name a date and that the marketing guys substracts 40% of that date and promise that to the client
