Heh, yeah... but I still miss the civ2 advisers

    Woo! Threadjacking!
"You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.
Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

I don't know what it was like in civ3 because I was too busy playing SMAC for the last 5 years, but I was really surprised when I got into civ4 and the advisers were just statistics. I really got into the 'real' advisors from civ2, even if they weren't quite as useful.

I want my Civ3 Cultural Advisor back!

"Build lots of colosseums and watch the people flock to our cities..."

You can't beat advice like that.

Maybe you can head over to the Stategy section and ask Vel to write a concise guide for newbies.

I sure remember how much I failed back in the good ol' Civ1 days, not speaking a word english back then didn't really help anything

I only remember few of the games, but one game was where I was on a small continent with two other Civs. In the year 2500AD I still hadn't gotten any of their cities (I had only played on the defense until then ). The reason why I remember this game the best was because of the annoying babarians, just south of my capital babarians kept landing, two attack units and a diplomat*, after they failed the attack the diplomat just kept running away, playing hide and seek. I really hated that guy, why didn't he stay and fight like a man, instead of running away all the time

*What was the diplomat doing there anyway?
This space is empty... or is it?

I remember my first ever game. I had a warrior trying to kill the buffalo outside my captial for the best part of a thousand years.

My first Civ game was with Civ II (I missed the first one). A friend of mine had the game, he told me I would love it and I went to his place and played a few turns in one of his games. So, yeah, my first civ game wasn't even mine!
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
