There are times when a slip or mistake can bring some small good fortune. In my current game, I noticed I have made a few small errors along the way to, and in the aftermath of a CS Slingshot.
One of these was made after the deliberate decision to delay switching religion until I had bureaucracy in place. I also avoided switching immediately to Bureaucracy because I wanted to use the switch to also take Caste System but remembered to make that switch during my turn.
With religion it simply escaped my mind to make the switch at a later date. However, I felt the need to share with Genghis Khan – my friendly neighbour – the wonders of this new Confucianism idea that I had discovered. Saladin and that Persian bloke had already adopted – Sally was the Defender of the Faith – so I figured it wise to have at least one fewer mortal enemy on my continent and Genghis was the only choice.
Things were moving on peaceful after than when all of a sudden Genghis is banging on the door with his fists and telling me that I should switch to Confucianism!!! I think that’s just his way really although some might think he was being aggressive. Indeed I thanked him most kindly and agreed that it would be a good idea to switch to Confucianism immediately.
In case you have not guessed it already, Genghis now regards me more highly for agreeing to his demands to do something I should have done hundreds of years earlier.
What a nice man that Mr Khan is
