Game Instillation Problem- windows error message

I just purchased Civ 4. I installed all of the software and the patch 1.5.

When I try to launch the game, I get a loading screen for about 5 seconds. Then I get a windows box that says that Civ 4 has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have been struggling with this for a while and need any and all help possible.

I am also attaching my dxdiag.

Please help.

My computer specs:
Toshiba notebook
Intel Pent 2Ghz
1G RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edtion Service Pack 2
ATI Mobility Radeon X600SE

YEA I got it!

I did a left click on the shortcut on my desktop; choose properties; choose compatibility; and then make it compatible with windows NT

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
