  • TO GO or not TO GO

Is it just me, or is there no "GOTO" destination box, as there has been in all the other games? SMAC had way the best, while CIV3 had a half-arsed version. CIV4 doesn't appear to have anything, which is retrograde. If anyone knows better, please let me know, and if Firaxis are reading this, PLEASE do something about it in a patch.

Someone didn't do the tutorial like a good little boy
"You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.
Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

Thanks for the help guys. Why is it that this forum is full of smug morons?

I know about right click and GOTO. Why is there no dialogue box with all possible destinations, as in SMAC, CIV2 and CIV3? Perhaps even sortable as in SMAC?

Sorry misunderstood what you meant by "GOTO" destination box - I thought you meant the box you click to goto a destination...

In Civ 4, unlike Civ 3, you can zoom out really far, thus partially eliminating the problem of not being able to find a particular city in your Civ. You can then zoom back in and (with your unit or stack of units selected) issue the move order.

I know it isn't perfect, but picking from a list of cities also has its drawbacks - for example, if you don't know the name of the city that you need to move to, you're lost. The zoomable map offers a decent chance at helping you figure out at least the right ball park for a destination, if not one particular city.
O'Neill: I'm telling you Teal'c, if we don't find a way out of this soon, I'm gonna lose it.

Lose it. It means, Go crazy. Nuts. Insane. Bonzo. No longer in possession of one's faculties. Three fries short of a Happy Meal. WACKO!

That is unfortunatelly the natural state for all forums.
                I think, therefore I ponder.

Aside, of course, from the contributions from such civilized people as the Swedes.

Why not just use the domestic advisor?
You can GOTO any city from that list, I believe...
