Last night when I was playing a piece of background music came on that I'd heard before in the game but I couldn't quite place it. Later on it hit me where I'd heard it before. It was in the classic computer game The Bard's Tale (not the new one, the one from the 80's). It was one of the bard songs from the game, called The Traveller's Tune. It was the one bard song I always seemed to be playing, so the tune is firmly in my head. Here's a link to the song:
Based on what I've researched, all the music in The Bard's Tale was original, so it most likely means that someone on the Civ 4 dev team is a fan of old school games.
If you want to try and hear it yourself, it plays sometime between the late 1700's and early 1800's, and sounds very classical in nature. It seems to only play once a campaign.
Can anyone verify this?
