Problems begining to play

Hi,

I have a problem running the Civ4. I have an ATI graphic card, already dwnloaded patches and pakbuild.zio, everything but when I can finally begin, in the 15 seconds beggining with civ 4 the monitor strangely get off and computer does not work.
Wich is the problem, please help.

Tried the latest driver for your card?

I had download the latest driver for win xp which is "catalyst 6.1 windows xp driver low speed dial up" achieve name 6-1_xp-2k_dd_29602
But the main problem is that I install this driver the computer shut and begin and I can play civ4 with no problems but when finish and maybe next day try to open again, within the first 10 seconds in saved game my monitor switch of and computer doesn't works.

Which could be the problem?
It is a monitor problem?
It is a ATI graphic card problem?
It is a CIV4 problem?

Please help.....
