  • How long before you can enter a permanent aliance?

When I check the permanent aliance option it says "we have not been in defensive pact or common war for long enough".

So I would like to know on Normal game speed how many turns of common war or defensive pact do you need to have before you can ask for a permanent aliance.

4 turns on normal game speed, but the AI Civ was already friendly towards me.

Plus, the AI civ wasn't the strongest, but i was. So i guess he wanted to be allied to me for protection

You need to have the flag option on in the original set-up menu, don't you?

MattPilot I started this thread because in my last game (Normal speed) I had a defensive alliance with another civ for over 15 turns (it was probably closer to 30) and they still were saying "we did not have bla bla bla for long enough" They were friendly too.

C'mon people share your experience with permanent aliance.

Another interesting thing would be if the level of friendlines plays a role. Is it enough to be friendly 10+ pts IIRC or to have huge number of friendlines points.

              Never used it.

The closest thing to a permanent alliance I have ever reached is when all of another Civs cities are now mine.
