  • Hot seat tech-trading

I realize this is not the best forum for this question but NO ONE has posted a response in the multi player forum so I am going to post it here as well.

Has anyone else encountered an issue with trading techs, resources, and cities in hot seat?

I am playing a hot seat game by myself. Roosevelt can give things to Peter but not vice versa. Peter can offer gold but anything else shows up for a fraction of a second in the negotiation box and then bounces back up to the selection menu on its own. They can both trade with other cultures. Roosevelt is first in the play order but cannot even select anything of Peters to trade for.

Smells buggy to me. I don't have the patch yet (just stock). Any recommendations?

It is messing up the way I wanted the game to go.

Wait, wait wait... you're playing hot-seat... by yourself? And you want to trade your techs?

But seriously, I've never played hotseat. SPAM!
"You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.
Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

Think about it - a built in ally you can count on not to betray you.(unless you're schizophrenic)

Washington got a much better start position than Peter. Peter is better off though, tech-wise, because Am. can give Ru. techs but not the other way around.

I also played a game with a permanent computer ally. To even it out a bit, I gave two AI's a permanent alliance as well.

Try to patch it, maybe it helps (there's been a lot of bug-fixes, not sure if the mentioned problem was fixed though, but it's worth a try)

The PBEM forum has something that may apply...

Basically, the game mechanics is the same for PBEM and hot-seat games. A variant of this well-known bug could be what is happening.

That sounds likely. Was the PBEM issue fixed with the patch?

Yes, it was. Insane that it somehow made it into the final release, but

Newest patch should fix things up for you.

I have the patch and the problem is solved. I didn't know what affect it would have on my current game but it worked fine. Now I can trade with myself. Hooray. It did reset all the graphics settings. I suppose 7 million people have realized that already.
