  • "Industrial and Later Starts"

    Hey,

Some of t he things I've read suggest that you can start the game later than stoneage. Is this possible? If so, how?

Are tech research lenghts in the different starting ages adjusted so that the game should still run the same number of turns as an earlier start? Or will you be able to build the spaceship really quickly with an industrial start?

That's a good question! I haven't tried a later start date so far, but my guess would be that it depends on what setting you choose among marathon/epic/normal/short.

I've tried only once, played only 2-3 turns. Middle age start.
All early techs were discovered and I could start researching middle age techs but it said something like 200 turns for the cheapest one.
I started with something like 2 archers, 1 longbow, 1 worker and 2 settlers.
What I wonder is how religions are founded. In this game, the latest ones were still to be discovered, but what if you start in the industrial age?
No holy city? How do you 'seed' a religion?

On the later starts the 7 religions are randomly given to 7 different civs on the first few turns.
