Chances are that the problem lies on your end though.
How obscure it might be is hard to tell.
BTW: disabling "fast-writes" on your video card is also a good thing to do. it offers next to zero performance but becomes much less unstable (for most cards anyway).
Also, if you get crashes, go into your bios and LOWER, yes lower, your memory settings.
Other than that, the most common cause of hard crashes are - as proven again in this thread - overheating.
They should stop fitting 300 or 400$ cards with these 0.00002 cent fan's that brake a week later.
