  • How much gold/turn is it reasonable to demand in exchange for ressources?

Until recently, I have committed the mistake in my games of not trading away excess ressources for gold (thanks to Blake for pointing that out ) so I kind of lack experience in how much gold to demand in return.

Obviously, some ressources are worth more than others - but just about how much shall I pull out of the AI's?

Yep, about ten per turn in teh early game, getting up to about twenty five for a normal sized civ I'd say. It might be difficulty related though. I got forty five on one occassion but that was from a very, very big Egyptian civ.

They will normally do three normal resources for a strategic resource too.

Usually, in practise, "All of it". They usually don't have enough on hand to reach their limits. This means they get a good deal - in theory anyway. Each AI gets a good deal, while you get a bunch of so-so deals that add up to a great deal.

I tend to draw the line at 5gpt, and will always make sure to scam the richest civs first.

I'll start off with even a single gold, some civs never run a fatter surplus. But once they're back to zero they'll tip into that slight surplus again and I can cancel and then up it to two and so on. Lots of renegotiation for sure but you end up with a solid price, also, sometimes you'll get to add five to the price in one.

It's worth doing the rounds the turn after completing a wonder - a fool and his money etc.
