One way of looking at it is that the obsolete units have somehow managed to acquire a few more modern weapons somewhere along the line but don't have either enough of them or enough training in their use to be nearly as effective as the more modern units.
Think American cavalry and riflemen against Cherokee horse archers. Those cherokee might have aquired rifles, but they where still "horse archers". Enough axemen and horse archers can defeat the far superior cavalry units at places like "The little big horn"

They really should tone down how often outdated units can whack the modern ones.

        Yeppers.

I understand then need for balance and all, but those Longbowmen would have had to acquire TOW missiles to take out a tank. I think I lost 3 or 4 tanks that way. Just frustrating, but I understand the need for some semblance of game balance.

Yeah, Longbow was the project codename for next generation anti tank missles in Civ World. Maceman is the name of an advanced anti-helicopter gattling gun.

Longbow=AH64 Apache=gunship (even though the game unit looks more like the Cobra).

Humans pilot those tanks... and humans, on occasion, need to take a leak... Hide in the bushes and rain arrows apon the peeing troops!~

Yeah, it was a joke, and why I included 'Civ World'. Also why I popped in Project Maceman.

Haha! I like Hauptman's idea best. Seems to make sense to me!

Were your tanks worn down to about nothing? I bet they were. The tank ran out of gas and the longbows scalped the crew.

Nope, not really. They were slightly damaged as I recall, but all above half strength at least. It made me chuckle.
