  • AGP problem

I have a radeon 9550XT, but I can't get the AGP to work.

I've gone into the BIOS at start up and changed the initial disp to AGP. Also set AGP at 8.

But when I start up windows and check the system, it shows that AGP is not available.

I haven't found any new motherboard drivers.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Go into device manager, make sure you have a listing for processor to AGP controller under system devices. Go to the manufacturers' website for your motherboard and make sure that you have the latest drivers for the AGP controller installed.

If the website does not have the drivers listed, It should still have the listing for the chipset that is used on your particular board (i.e AMD, Intel, SIS, etc..) the websites for the chipset manufacturers will have those drivers. You will need to make sure that you know which chipset you have. Some of those sites provide a utility that you can download, and it will determine which chipset and version you have.
