No Tech-trading

Has anyone else experienced total dominance while playing a game without tech-trading?

Every time I play such a game, I wind up being able to take over the world sometime between 1000 and 1500 when my cavalry and riflemen are beating up on longbowmen, macemen and/or horse archers. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing chieftan or deity, the AI:s never manage to keep up on the techs.

I tried no tech trading on Prince difficulty once or twice and seems to me that the AI actually learned techs faster relative to me. I guess I trade techs a lot to keep up with the AI's in a normal game on Prince or Monarch.

I like banning tech trading in multiplayer, because people collaborating on techs under the table will fly past more obstinate independent type players.

I'd like to see that deity win with cavalry beating up on longbowman and maceman. .

Yeah it's easy on warlord and below. You will amass a huge tech lead. It's about even on noble- as it should be. But after that... good luck.
