  • Advisors, unusefull?

I found that the advisors in Civ IV are too poor, specially if you compares it with Civ III.

The Military Advisor, i.e., can anybody explain me what is usefull for?

I regularly use most of the advisers, especially the diplomatic and religious advisers.

But I still like the old civ2 advisers who were actually advisers as opposed to some statistics on the screen.
"You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.
Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

Well the adviser advisers are technically useless other than for possible entertainment value.

I find the available statistics and information in cIV to be very useful.

Very high entertainment value. I miss them.

              The Civ2 advisors were terrific.

Btw, I actually like the stats of the "advisors". But civ II had stats, too... So, why not have both?

The roid-raged military adviser always busted my **** up, especially since I was a builder and typically had a very small army. He was always pissed.

Well, is pretty to remember the old civ 2 advisors but in civ 4 they are still called advisors but if I compare the military or the city (i.e.) with the civ 3 ones, the civ 4 info is too poor.

The military advisor is crucial for quickly finding particular units, especially on my little laptop screen where the mini-map is tiny.

The CivII miltary advisor was the best... especially when he'd get drunk and walk out of the screen
