Space Race

I am playing at the easiest levels to learn the game. I finished the Space Race but nothing happened. The picture of the spaceship on the victory page didn't show that anything had been done.

I've read that 'space race' can be turned on or off. Maybe I have it off. Where do I check to see if it is on or off? I can't find anywhere to make this change.

From within game, I think F8 then Settings should show the setup details. On starting a game, one of the option screens has tickboxes for victory conditions.

Thanks, but I certainly didn't see the option page during start game. Is that at all difficulty levels?

If you were capable of constructing spaceship parts the space victory is most definitely enabled.

And you can only enable/disable victory conditions (among other things) when you start a custom game. The button is on the same screen as the "Play Now" button.

Thanks. That helps very much. Doesn't explain why I completed all parts of the spaceship in the one game I played and nothing happened. The game just continued without any clue that I had completed the spaceship. Is the 'spaceship' picture on the victory condition page supposed to change, or reflect status, in any way? It never appeared by the picture that I had constructed anything.

Does "winning" the space race leave anybody else feeling empty?

Maybe it's because the movie is lame, or just made extra lame by how choppy and slow it is.

Or maybe its just that it's not nearly as rewarding to me as blowing all the other civ's off the face the earth.

Anybody else feel like once they've won in a space race they have no desire to do it ever again?

Normally, a movie pops up after a message that you have won a space race victory. So you have two ways of knowing you won.

Any idea on what happened when I completed the space ship but nothing happened? Is there a known glitch with this victory condition?

Attach the save Before and After you finish your last spaceship part, so we can see what's going on. (Include them both in the same .zip, or 2 different .zips)
